Below are two private gardens in the village that you can not see, during lockdown, we know you have all been busy tending your gardens, so here is your opportunity to share the results of your efforts with the rest of the village and have the chance of being awarded the accolade of ‘Best kept garden in East Morton’ which will be rewarded with gift vouchers.
In previous years, only gardens visible from the roadside and paths have been able to be judged, so this year we are asking you to share photos of your gardens, thus enabling us to include all those beautiful gardens hiding behind your houses and fences which normally only you can enjoy. You don’t need to have a large plot – it may be that you only have room for a few tubs and baskets – so anyone in East Morton can enter.
HOW TO ENTER
1. Take some photos which show off your garden’s best features (up to three photos). (These must have been taken this year and should not include any people).
2. Write a couple of sentences which describe your garden and its highlights.
3. Send the photos and description together with your:- Name and address – Contact tel number and/or email address.
Please email your entry to firstname.lastname@example.org, attaching your photos. If you do not have access to email, you can enter by enclosing the same information in an envelope and posting to Stephen Duxbury, Prestset, Bethel Hall, Morton Lane, East Morton BD20 5UE (please indicate if you would like the photos returning to you).
The closing date for entries is Saturday 15th August 2020. After this, winners will be selected by our judge and prizes awarded to the Best Kept Garden, Runner-up Best Kept Garden and Best Frontage.
If you don’t have a suitable garden yourself, why not encourage your friends and neighbours to enter instead? Good luck!
